Amended Fire Safety Act (FSA)

The amended Fire Safety Act (FSA) has been formally enacted as of 14 September 2020. With this amendment, buildings like religious premises will be required to implement Emergency Preparedness (EP) measures to ensure a high level of readiness amongst buildings’ occupants.

SCDF has had engagements with various religious associations to discuss the ways EP measures can be implemented in religious premises. We are appreciative of your efforts to implement these measures. We will continue to provide guidance to you and jointly ensure that the implementation of EP measures will see itself through to fruition.

We are cognisant of the challenges faced by the society as we continue to face the risk of COVID-19. At the same time, we should be mindful that fire and life safety is of utmost importance despite this current condition. Do let us know should you have any concerns/challenges with implementing these measures so that we are able to facilitate accordingly.

We thank you for your cooperation in this effort. If you have any enquiry, please feel free to email to Md_Khairul_Anwar_Khalil@scdf.gov.sg or Neo_Jin_Xiang@scdf.gov.sg
