On 3 May 2026, Mr Tan Thiam Lye BBM(L), President of Taoist Federation (Singapore), was invited by Songshan Cihui Temple in Taipei to serve as keynote speaker at the 2026 Taipei Mother Goddess Cultural Festival International Taoist Forum, delivering an address on ‘The Future and Prospects of International Taoism.’
In his speech, President Tan shared Singapore’s experience in developing Taoism, including uniting temples, supporting youth education, and engaging with government and society. He also spoke about growing Taoism internationally through clear communication, a positive image, and the use of technology.
He emphasised the importance of Taoist values such as purity, naturalness, and doing good, and encouraged more cultural exchange and global cooperation. He also expressed hope for stronger unity in the Taoist community worldwide.
