Statement By Taoist Federation (Singapore) on the recent attack in a religious space

Taoist Federation (Singapore), was deeply disturbed and saddened to learn of the attack on Father Christopher Lee during last evening’s Mass at St Joseph Church.

Keeping Fr Christopher Lee and also those that have been shaken and affected by this incident in our prayers. We pray for the speedy recovery of Fr Christopher Lee and the peace and safety of everyone in the community

The Taoist Community stand united with our brothers and sisters of the Catholic faith and all faith communities at this difficult time. We should all unite in our commitment to non-violence, support those who work tirelessly for peace and to stand in solidarity with all who suffer from the consequences of violence and also rejecting violence in all its form by fostering a culture of peace, respect and understanding.

Singapore has no place for any form of violence especially in religious spaces.

In this difficult time, offenses are bound to happen but forgiving and understanding others and embracing differences will strengthen our cohesiveness. We should always remember that unity is built on shared beliefs. We hope that everyone will remain calm and resilient during this period.
